Thanksgiving Dinner With Our Troops

Americans enjoy gathering with friends and family to share a meal prepared with love and care.  Many families have their own traditions for the holiday, but most involve spending time with loved ones.  As I prepare for our Thanksgiving dinner this year, I wondered how our troops will be celebrating the day.    But on the other side of the world, our troops can't join in the festivities back home.  They will eat Thanksgiving dinner far away from home and many of them, in harm's way. As a Soldiers' Angel, I see and hear about the loneliness; being homesick but unable to go home, wondering about the family back home and hoping to make a call home or get a letter from home. What IS Thanksgiving like for our troops?  On this page, you can learn a little about how the military feeds our troops, see ways that you can help and enjoy some smiling faces having their Thanksgiving meals from last year's holiday.  The "foodie facts" I learned about how our troops celebrate Thanksgiving are amazing, to the point of some chuckles.  Today happens to be Veteran's Day as I write this page.  In a couple of weeks or so, it will be Thanksgiving.  Enjoy a look at Thanksgiving Dinner ~ Military style!
